Testing Collection Procedures / all at home. No lab blood draws.

Comprehensive hormone testing for male and females. As a doctor, I used to test hormones using either blood or saliva. Not any more. DUTCH stands for “Dried Urine Testing for Comprehensive Hormones.” Testing involves several urine samples, then dried, then returned to the lab. Saliva is also used in conjunction. Entire test is done in privacy of home.
Optional: For females who are not able to get pregnant or having irregular cycle patterns, adding “Cycle Mapping” in addition to these tests, might be helpful for a better understanding what might, or might not be occurring.

Samples are taken

1) Within five minutes upon waking: Urine and Saliva.
2) Thirty minutes from time of first test: Saliva
3) Sixty minutes from time of first test: Saliva
4) Two hours from time of first test: Urine
5) Ten minutes before dinner: Urine and Saliva
6) Just before bedtime: Urine and Saliva
7) If unable to sleep throughout the night, at that time: Saliva

8) Patient sends samples to lab via prepaid shipping through Federal Express.
9) Lab notifies prescribing doctor when results are available.
10) Doctor must be properly trained. Even so, lab goes over all results with doctor for about 30 minutes per patient, because there are so many cross reactions to understand.
11) Doctor then analyzes results further in relation to patient’s issues.
12) Doctor prescribes NON-drug supplement list recipe of therapeutic grade, all natural supplements, specifically designed for patient.
13) Supplement prescription comes from a specific company that specializes is custom made supplements, specifically designed for the patient.

This is the best hormonal testing, that I, as a doctor, have used since medical school graduation in 1990.
We are not talking about hormones in relation only to sexual characteristics as most doctors understand. Hormones are involved in several other, vitally important bodily functions that help keep patients more healthy, physically fit, energetic, happy, and  maintain a quality of life that is meaningful.

Serum Testing verses DUTCH Testing

Serum is a snapshot picture from one point in time. Usually gives 6 parent hormone findings, no metabolites.

DUTCH is taken through the day. Gives same parent hormone findings, plus the hormonal metabolites which are the small intermediate and end-product molecules of hormone metabolism. Gives a fuller picture throughout the day in a graph format.

Adrenal Hormones, plus Metabolites:

Serum: snapshot picture of one point in time. 2 parent findings.

DUTCH: same 2 parent findings, plus 7 metabolites. 9 findings total.
DUTCH Additional Tests: 9 Organic Acids to do with hormonal activation.
