Application of microcurrent therapy as a facial, is easy, and complements the body naturally. Microcurrent facials are applied using “micro” amperage (one millionth of an amp), to the tissues of the face. The procedure is simple and painless. Some patients may even fall asleep during treatment.

The best facial treatment protocol is directed at each individual tissue responsible for the contour of the face: 1) the skin, 2) the underlying muscle structures, 3) the connective tissues responsible for connecting the muscles to their attachment points, 4) the fascia (the tissue directly beneath the skin, and also surrounding the muscle bellies) and 5) the elastin (the part of the skin that allows stretched skin to return to normal, like elastic).

A good doctor will consider any “conditions” that may have affected the above tissues, which have allowed those tissues to possibly age faster than normal. Conditions can be almost anything, but usually will involve emotional and environmental stressors, allergies, toxins, loss of secretions of skin (dried up skin), etc.

Microcurrent facial treatments do not force the face to comply, as in surgery or botox injections. Microcurrent facial treatments work in “harmony” with the body and as such, the “chemistry” of the body must be considered. What this boils down to is proper diet and nutrition. Very nice results are possible if the patient has a really good diet, including a quality protein source. The skin is merely reflecting the condition of the body on a much deeper level. If the patient is suffering from something like Arsenic toxicity, that toxicity must be identified and eliminated. If that patient is suffering from acute liver problems, again, proper testing and addressing the issues at hand, must be done, before a really good microcurrent facial is realized.

Facials without addressing any underlying biological issues, are possible, but may be slow, and not as nice as hoped for. Surgical and botox procedures are like putting a huge mask on, covering up the underlying health issues.

As part of your facial treatment protocol, if needed, suggestions may be given regarding possible dietary changes. If your health is questionable, a complete nutritional analysis may be recommended.
