Erectile Dysfunction Discussion

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a state of impotence characterized by the inability to develop and/or maintain an erection of the penis during sexual activity. Penile erection is accomplished when blood enters into the penis, engorging sponge-like bodies inside the penis. The erection remains constant as long as the internal hydraulic pressure is maintained. The entire process begins during times of sexual arousal when the brain signals nerves inside the penis to begin filling the penis with blood and maintaining that hydraulic pressure.

Biological causes of erectile dysfunction, most common are:

  • Age related natural decline in the amount of free testosterone circulating in the blood
  • Age related natural decline in Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a precursor to both male and female sex hormones, as well as the adrenal hormones
  • Cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis
  • Diabetes
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hypoadrenalism, specifically low cortisol levels
  • Neurological problems
  • Deficiency of the non-essential amino acid Arginine
  • Deficiency of Potassium
  • Arsenic toxicity
  • Side effects of several prescription medications for all sorts of unrelated medical conditions

Psychological causes of erectile dysfunction, most common are:

  • Feelings of no self worth
  • Marital problems
  • Financial problems
  • Side effects of several prescription medications for all sorts of unrelated medical conditions

Homeopathic Testosterone and Androgen Hormones

Testosterone Homeopathic: Prescription testosterone is a federally controlled substance. It is not available to the public unless an authorized physician with a DEA license writes a formal prescription. Synthetically derived testosterone carries warning labels stating testosterone can cause heart attacks. It appears bio-identical testosterone, so far anyhow, does not seem to cause heart attacks.

Homeopathic testosterone is both safe and effective. It does not require a written prescription. Homeopathic testosterone is most effective when taken with a second homeopathic formula designed to enhance androgenic hormones. Taking homeopathics will balance the hormones. If a man has too little testosterone, homeopathics will increase his free testosterone levels. If he has too much, it will balance it out in the other direction. It is impossible to overdose on testosterone when taking it in homeopathic form.

The homeopathic Testosterone I recommend for men comes in one-ounce bottles. The homeopathic androgen hormone stimulator I recommend comes in four-ounce bottles. Both of these homeopathic formulas can, and should, be taken at the same time.

How to take? This example applies to all homeopathic educational suggestions, when listed together in each educational group.
This example: Homeopathic Testosterone and Androgens is one group.
It is most convenient to purchase 4 one-ounce bottles of homeopathic Testosterone and 1 four-ounce bottle of Andro Stim Liquescence. Then an additional empty four-ounce “dropper bottle.” Empty one-half of the Andro Stim into the empty four-ounce bottle, then empty 2 of the one-ounce Testosterone bottles into the same bottle. Now you have 1 four-ounce bottle that has been properly mixed and ready for use. You also have enough remaining homeopathic formula for a second refill. The most effective dose is two full squirts from the dropper bottle under the tongue, QID. It must be taken when the mouth is void of any food, drink, or other odors.

Other Erectile Dysfunction Medical Choices

DHEA: Age related natural decline in Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) occurs in both men and women. DHEA is a precursor to both male and female sex hormones, as well as the adrenal hormones. DHEA influences all the sex hormones in both men and women.

Arginine: Arginine is a non-essential amino acid. It is the precursor to a very important molecule produced by the body, “Nitric Oxide.” Nitric oxide has demonstrated numerous beneficial properties within the human body. Nitric oxide acts as a vasodilator opening up blood vessels to allow greater blood flow which will enhance penile blood flow and improve erectile function. It is also a major component in the manufacture of seminal fluid.

The human body is able to manufacture it’s own Arginine (which is why Arginine is a “non-essential” amino acid), if the health of the individual is in otherwise, top condition. When our bodies decline in health, then the manufacturing of non-essential amino acids by the body also starts to decline and with it, Arginine. Erectile dysfunction will follow. The only fix is to take a daily dose of a non-denatured, high quality protein supplement. This excludes nearly all conventional protein powers commonly found in the market place. Men, it is up to you, how important is this to you? Read section on “protein,” found in index, for explanation. Men who are sensitive to the needs of their bodies and have been taking a protein supplement long enough to notice a difference, will notice a “craving” for additional protein after intimate relationships with their spouse.

Arginine should be discontinued during viral illness especially active herpes infection, as arginine may enhance white blood cell activity, check with your health care practitioner if you suffer from an autoimmune disease prior to use.

Ginkgo Biloba: Ginkgo Biloba has many effects within the body. While it is best known for its enhancement of memory and cognitive function, it also has the ability to dilate blood vessels and improve blood flow to the penis. In one study, gingko biloba by itself, improved erectile dysfunction in a group of impotent males after six months of use.

Ginkgo biloba may inhibit platelet function and should be discontinued prior to surgery. Platelets cause the blood to clot, so bleeding will cease.

Nettles: Stinging nettles has demonstrated the ability to enhance the level of free testosterone in the blood by binding to SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin). Free testosterone is the active component of testosterone. Enhancing free testosterone will in all aspects of erectile dysfunction, as well as improve the sense of well-being in men.

Minerals: The minerals Calcium, Magnesium and Boron have been shown to enhance the beneficial effects of herbs in improving peripheral blood flow.

Female Sexual Challenges Medical Choices

Fenugreek: Low romantic desire affects 27% of pre-menopausal women and 52% of post-menopausal women. Fenugreek increases libido desire in both pre- and post-menopausal women.

Estrogen to Progesterone ratio for women:
Estrogen levels that are too high in proportion to Progesterone, will decrease libido in women. Excess Estrogen can be a result from using Birth Control Pills, having a hysterectomy (because the ovaries produce progesterone), or Estrogen replacement therapy without also replacing the Progesterone hormonal counterpart.

Women have three different types of estrogens, plus one progesterone, plus they also have low levels of testosterone; for a total of five hormones that must be balanced in women. They also have DHEA. (DHEA influences all the sex hormones in both men and women, plus the adrenal hormones.) All these hormones must be in balance.

DHEA: Age related natural decline in Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) occurs in both men and women. DHEA is a precursor to both male and female sex hormones, as well as the adrenal hormones. DHEA influences all the sex hormones in both men and women.

Damiana: This herb has long been purported to enhance sexual desire in females. While no research has been done to confirm this many anecdotal reports exist from women who say that it has kindled their sexual desire.

Dong Quai: (Chinese Angelica) The Chinese use this herb as an overall tonic for women. It functions similarly to ginseng as an “adaptogenic” in most women. By enhancing energy and feelings of well being, it has earned a reputation as a sexual tonic.

Green Oats: (Avena Sativa) Wild oat herb preparations have been used for anxiety, weakness symptoms, old age symptoms, sleeplessness, stress and for weakness of the bladder. The phrase “sow your wild oats” refers to the use of this herb as an aphrodisiac. One unconfirmed sturdy did show benefit as a sexual tonic.

Gotu kola: This herb is widely used in India for its longevity enhancing reputation. By enhancing an individual’s sense of well-being it may serve as a general sexual tonic.

Side Effects: There are no known side effects of any of these herbs at the recommended amounts.
